The Lincoln Motor Company after 10 years of the gap has now finally brought a next generation of the much awaited SUV the Lincoln Navigator. The 2018 Lincoln Navigator is a fine blend of luxury, comfort and high-tech specs. It was introduced this year at the New York Auto Show. With this new variant, Lincoln is trying to reach back to its top position in full size/ luxury Sports Utility Vehicles class. Just like its predecessor it will also be available in Select and Reverse trims.
2018 Lincoln Navigator Exterior
The 2018 Navigator exterior is remodeled and now features a new wider grille which is carried in other Lincoln’s models. The exclusive chrome finished Lincoln badge sits gracefully at the center of the grille. It even illuminates when you step closer to the vehicle. The front fascia is also redesigned and carrying a bull-nose face. The front portion is holding chromed fog lights and headlamps along with LED treatments. Starting from the headlights a sharp crease can be noticed which is stretched toward the LED taillights. The taillights at the back are also extended towards the rear hatch giving them a wider appearance. The bold ‘Lincoln’ lettering at the rear is making it worth noticing. The outside windows and last two pillars are also blacked out giving the vehicle a VIP stance. This full-size SUV will be running on 22 inches wheel.
Lincoln Navigator 2018 Interior
The metal and real wood accent interior of the next-gen Lincoln Navigator gives an enriched feeling upon opening the doors. The SUV is spacious and can accommodate 7 passengers in 3 rows. The seating is designed to provide a VIP treatment to its passengers. The front seats can be attuned in thirty diverse ways and it not only provides a heating and cooling facility but also massage facility too. The dashboard is divided into two sections with center console separated from the dash. The radio, drive mode and HVAC control buttons are mounted on the center console. Moving up from the center console towards the dash you will find a 12 inches instrument cluster sits atop of the central air vents.
High Tech features
The SYNC 3 comes standard with the SUV which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from the touch screen the steering wheel also holds a bunch of buttons which allow the driver to manage the navigation and audio while driving. The back of the front seat holds adjustable 10 inches screens, so those sitting on second raw can now enjoy their desired content while connecting it wirelessly with their Smart Android devices or via USB or SD card. At a time ten smart devices can be connected with Wi-Fi. The Slingbox user can even get their television channels on their screen, thanks to the agreement between Sling Media and Lincoln Motors. The driver can even view the selected info on their windshield with the available Head-up Display. Moreover, the three different listening modes of the Revel Ultima audio can give you a theater feel inside the cabin with its 20 speakers.

The new Lincoln SUV will get old/new EcoBoost engine, with the size of 3.5-liter and twin turbocharger. This new Lincoln Navigator 2018 super engine is able to generate 450 horsepower. Smooth gears’ shifting can be obtained with the 10-speed automatic transmission, which will eventually provide benefits in improving the fuel efficiency. It is the same engine used under the hood of Ford F-150 Raptor. It is yet to be revealed that whether the new Lincoln will have FWD or AWD mode. Lincoln team has also reduced 200 pounds of vehicle’s weight while utilizing high strength but lighter aluminum alloy in body’s construction. The lighter weight body will make the drive more refined and enjoyable. Towing capability also expected to be increased.
Price and Release date
It is expected that the new Lincoln Navigator will reach the dealers by the end of this year. The Company has not disclosed the price yet. However, looking at the price of 2017 model of the Lincoln Navigator, we can estimate the price will start from $70,000 for the base trim and will be increased for higher trim levels.
Navigator has always remained a model of elegance and luxury for the buyers, so the next generation trim is again going to win the hearts of Lincoln lovers with its expressive outlook and advances technology features.
