2018 Ford Mustang GT

Probably the best American muscle car is going to have its new 2018 model. Yes, we are talking about new 2018 Ford Mustang GT. Its first public appearance was presented by famous actor and wrestler ‘The Rock’ (Dwayne Johnson) as a gift for an American combat vet that won the Ford Go Further Award this year.

2018 Ford Mustang GT Redesign, Exterior

On the outside, the next-generation Ford Mustang has some design upgrades, nothing too radical but cool changes on the exterior including new LED headlights and a new front bumper design. It also has a new lower rear diffuser with quad exhaust pipes on, and redesigned taillamps (I barely noticed it) also adding LED. The hood is like one inch lower than it’s the previous version and the car now looks more lean, athletic and aerodynamically fit.

A new exterior colors Orange Fury Tri-Coat, Royal Crimson Tinted Clearcoat and legendary Kona Blue has also been introduced. With the new Ford Mustang you can choose between 12 distinct kinds of wheels designs, the front is definitely when it concentrated differences compared to its previous model, besides that no big changes. With the performance package, you get a showy rear wing and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Dimensions are Length – 188.3 in., Width – 75.4 in., Height 54.3 – in. and wheelbase – 107.1 in.

The Ford Mustang 2018 features a new cluster, with three different styles (Normal, Sport and Track) and some different color to choose so the customers can personalize as per their choice. It also features a brand new digital 12 inch LCD screen. Refined materials inside, many satin finishes that makes it looks more uniform, the wheel can be upgraded to a heated one, and it has some basic controls on it. We can see a touchscreen center with SYNC 3 and responsive voice-activated tech. Drivers can even save their drive setting with the help of the new function called ‘MyMode’. The screen has GPS navigation (of course), and can be connected to control via your smartphone, it works on iPhone and Android both.

Under the hood, it has two engines types available, a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a 5.0-liter Coyote V-8. As referred to output and torque the four-cylinder stands at 310 horsepower and 350 pounds-feet respectively. The old V6 engine has been dropped finally and now the V-8 version has taken its place producing an output of 460 horsepower and 420 pounds-feet of torque with a fuel delivery, port, and direct injection.

2018 Mustang GT also adds latest drive mode with the name “Drag Trip”, to improve its shifts changes and losing less engine torque while shifting between its 10-speed gearbox, (10-speed gearbox is optional the six-speed gear is still available). The V-8 engine features a twin-disc clutch and a dual-mass flywheel. All versions have retuned dampers, anti-roll bars, while the GT with the performance pack gets an electronically adjustable magnetorheological damper. For optimize, performance new shock absorbers has also been installed.

Safety and Tech features

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT incorporate a newly automated safety techs and driver assist technology, which includes the following features:
• Pre-collision alert
• Drive alert system
• Lane departure warning system
• Pedestrian detection
Technological features include Smartphone compatible FordPass app, which aids the drivers to locate their vehicles and lock/ unlock them from distance.

Price and Release date

The Ford Mustang 2018 will be available in October, the pricing for the 2018 Mustang EcoBoost® Fastback is around $25,952, this same model but premium cost 31,000$ while the Convertible one costs $31,485.
The 2018 Mustang GT Fastback price is $35,495, the same model but Premium Convertible costs $36,500, the Premium Fastback $39.495 and the Convertible for $44.995.
The 2018 Mustang Shelby GT350® costs $58,045 and the GTR350R® that is the most expensive version will be out for $65,545.
