The current generation of the Ford Focus hatch was launched way back in 2012 and seems to have lost some ground to other models like Honda Civic, Chevrolet Cruze, and Hyundai Elantra. The 2019 Ford Focus hatchback MK4 is the fourth generation version of this car and is expected to be revealed during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This hatch is promising to have sharper dynamics, serious modifications to the current architecture, and a much bigger cabin.
2019 Ford Focus Changes, Exterior
The car retains its charming sporty look but now includes unique European style taillights that emphasize the rear view width. The taillights together with the headlights are now much slimmer, clear-cut, and packed with LEDs. There are aerodynamic enhancements to this hatchback to give it a lively look. More surface excitement has been stamped into this car by Ford to give it a Mazda 3–like sweeping creases on either side of the body.
The exterior design is generally expected to give this car a mild transformation from its current version to a more renewed appearance similar to that of the Elantra GT hatchback from Hyundai. At least six standard exterior colors are expected. They include blue, red, magnetic metallic, oxford white, shadow black, and ingot silver metallic.
Ford Focus 2019 Interior
The 2019 Focus hatchback offers bigger cabin due to its increased dimensions. This will translate to more legroom for the rear passengers. The extra room is expected to place this car at par with the likes of Volkswagen Golf and Honda Civic. The materials used as well as the overall quality of this car is expected to be slightly better than its predecessors. You should expect a more stylized dashboard that brings the controls closer to you.
The interior design includes a MyKey feature which helps the owner to set the speed limits, especially for young drivers. The standard features expected with this car include a tilt steering column, air conditioning, keyless entry, and an audio device. The other features include MyFord Driver Connect, rearview camera, leather seats, cruise control, dual-zone climatic controls, and 10 audio speakers. The trunk capacity is expected to be slightly more than 13.2 cu-ft.
The current generation of the next-gen Ford Focus vehicles uses two engine variants. These are the inline-four 2-liter turbocharged engine and the three-cylinder 1-liter engine. The 2019 Ford Focus hatchback is expected to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost gasoline engine that uses three cylinders. This new engine uses either a five-speed manual gear transmission system or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gear transmission system. The two engine options from the previous model will still be available for this car.
