The 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is set to be hitting the market soon as the most powerful muscle-car ever produced by Ford. The company released a brief video to confirm the return of this legend car. This car will feature a horsepower of 700 plus units which is twice the horsepower that was produced by the prototype GT500 version of 1967.
2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Exterior
This car is expected to come with a mid-cycle refresh exterior featuring independent rear suspension system. You should expect much wider tires and an enlarged grille. The lower intake will also be much bigger and there will be gaping holes in the exterior design to enhance the car’s visual effects. There is the inclusion of several vents and gashes on the car’s fender which is likely to play the role of cooling either the brakes, engine, or tires. The car’s front fascia is expected to come with a distinctive enlarged lip spoiler.
The interior design of this car is expected not to digress much from the interior layout of a standard Mustang car. Some of the features to look out for should include Recaro seats, leather-accented steering wheel, and simple instrumentation. The aggressive nature of its seats will make entry and exit from the car more convenient. You should expect more adjustment options for the seats to provide adequate room for passengers. The positioning of the steering wheel will also make it easy and comfortable to drive this car.
2019 Shelby GT500 Engine
This 2019 Mustang Shelby GT500 is expected to be powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, codename “Predator engine”. The engine is similar to that of the GT350R model only that it has been modified to give more than 700 ponies (rumors about 750 hp). The capacity of its engine will place it at the same level with the likes of Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and SRT Hellcat. The expected top speed for this car is 200 mph while its speedometer is expected to read up to 214 mph. Apart from the ceramic brakes, there is a possibility of the dual-clutch 7-speed transmission system. There is the possibility that manufacturer will try 10-speed automatic transmission (used in Raptor model) for the first time in Shelby cars.
