2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet

The Ford company has revealed a new Mustang car several months after unveiling the Mustang GT500 model. While the mentioned model remains the most powerful car produced by the company, the 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet will soon take away these bragging rights. The car is destined to be the quickest rear-drive model in the world.

2018 Mustang Cobra Jet Exterior

The exterior design of this car includes custom wheels that have been produced by Weld Racing. You will also get wider tracks and enhanced aerodynamics to give it groundbreaking capabilities. Just like the Mustang GT500, the Cobra Jet will get an expanded grille and large lower intake. This will combine with a new graphics package from Ford as well as the 50th-anniversary commemorative badge. To be able to honor the original year of 1968, Ford has promised to produce only 68 models of 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet. The two-seater will be sold in either red or white color.

2016 Cobra Jet

To aid in its faster acceleration, the rear suspension of the car has been redesigned to include four-link set-up. There is also a 9-Inch heavy-duty solid rear axle. Furthermore, the company added a pair of racing seats (Racetech FIA seats) which have been upgraded to make them ultra-lightweight. The new Mustang Cobra Jet interior looks slightly different having been given a full roll cage. Some of the standard features include a digital instrument cluster, mode switch controls, throttle mapping, and stability-control setting.

Mustang Cobra Jet 2018 Engine

This beautiful future collector’s item is expected to run quarter-mile in just 8.0 seconds. It will give it a competitive advantage over the likes of Dodge Challenger 626kW / 840 hp SRT Demon. The drivetrain specifications that will be used in this car include a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 Coyote engine. Its power output will be in the region of stunning 650kW / 870 ponies while its terminal speed will top the 150 mph / 241 km/h mark. The 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet will have hyper-acceleration capabilities moving from 0-60 mph / 0-100 km/h in less than 2.2 seconds (rumors).

Price and release date

The coupe is expected to get to the market towards the end of the 2018 summer period. Its price will be in the region of $100,000 +. As we mentioned before, only 68 copies will be available, if you are among the lucky ones to get it, you will have something to brag about.
