2019 Ford GT Carbon Series

There are scores of models of Ford which have hit the streets over the past many decades. Hence, it is quite obvious that the 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series is a car that comes with quite a bit of excitement surrounding it. The excitement is because of the fact that it is slated to be one of the lightest of the Ford supercars which have hit the markets so far. The highlight is the fact that the yet to be launched model will be shedding nearly 40 pounds because of some innovations. These include titanium exhaust + lug nuts, fiber wheels, and polycarbonate rear hatch. We will look at the various features which could be useful in reviewing the car from close quarters.

Ford GT Carbon 2019 Interior

Though the focus has been on shedding some weight, the interiors still continue to be quite good. Ford will most probably be retaining the same interior air conditioning as well as the highly popular Sync 3 infotainment system. This has been done with the main intention of keeping the interiors quite civilized and in line with other models. However, the cupholders and the drivers’ side storage bin have been removed. This again must have been done to keep the car light in view of the overall objective. Other than that there are reasons to believe that the interiors have not been touched or changed too dramatically. The interior is also likely to come up with carbon fiber sills, center consoles, air register pods making it quite unique and different.

2019 Ford GT Carbon Exterior

This special GT special edition has some striking new things as far as the exteriors are concerned. It certainly has more carbon fiber when compared to other previous models. Further, the optional accent colors will also make their presence felt strongly. This will go a long way in communicating its trademark chicane cravings. The exterior will also have two carbon fiber stripes which will be exposed. It will be matched wonderfully with A-pillars. The body panels will also be lower and as mentioned above, the fiber wheels will certainly be a big takeaway. The car is likely to come in orange, blue, red or silver colors. The selected colors will certainly be matched well with brake calipers, mirror cap and the fiber strip in the center.

Engine

Now let us spend some time understanding more about the engine. Not many changes have been made. This Carbon Series still continues to repose its faith in the twin-turbo 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 engine. Furthermore, the beast can produce a neat 647 horsepower and around 550 pound-feet of torque. The seven-speed transmission (dual clutch) transmits enough power to the rear wheels of the car. Though the weight reduction could impact the power of the 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series positively, the proof of the pudding lies in the eating. However, it can reach a maximum speed of 2216 mph. It already has set intimidating benchmarks which may not be changed much.

Launch Date And Price

The launch date is not very clear which is believed that applications for the first tranche of supplies will be received around the first week of November and deliveries might start around the third or four weeks of 2019. As far as the price is concerned, there is no authentic information but there are reasons to believe that the base price should be around $450,000.
